SHAKTI MILAN SAMAJ

ShaktiMilanShakti Milan Samaj is a non-governmental, non-profitable organisation working on HIV/AIDS since its establishment. The organisation started its work since 2003 in a group but it was established legally in 2006. Since then it has been working to raise awareness against HIV/AIDS in carpet factories, schools, slum areas; performing street drama, providing counselling to the victims in cooperation with different organisations, providing basic services to HIV infected/affected children and women. Among them more than 15 infected women have already received job opportunity and other members who are involved in the group are also building up and increasing confidence to do something. Similarly, Shakti Milan Samaj is also providing support to HIV infected women in basic health, treatment, income generation programme, and counselling. It is giving various skill developments training such as HIV/AIDS management training, counselling training, livelihood training, networking and advocacy training, school support for HIV infected women’s children, street drama, and nutrition support and so on in Kathmandu valley.
