NAVA TARA KISHORI SANJAL (NTKS)

Nava Tara Kiswori Sanjal (NTKS) was established by adolescent girls from nine squatter communities in Kathmandu in 2005. Since its foundation, NTKS has organised and empowered adolescent girls in these communities and was formally registered by the Nepali Government in 2010. Programs and campaigns aimed at improving the life outcomes of girls in squatter communities include facilitating access to education and raising awareness of reproductive health, together with economic empowerment. NTKS cooperates with local, national and international non-government and governmental organisations to advocate against child marriage, domestic violence, sexual harassment and rape.

NTKS envisions educating and empowering girls living in squatter communities so they can assert their basic human rights and live with dignity and social justice.

NKTS seeks to ensure that the rights of children and adolescent girls in squatter communities are protected and promoted.
