Awaj Foundation aims to redress the structural problems in the garment industry, raise awareness on the issues that garment workers face, train workers on their rights and responsibilities under national and international labor law frameworks. Awaj’s actively builds leadership capacity and negotiation capability of women workers as they are the majority of the workforce in the industry as Awaj believes that leadership from women can transform the society towards greater equity and justice. They also work on prevention of gender-based violence and sexual harassment against women (at work and at home) by campaigning, providing factory level awareness training, advocacy including demanding for ratification of ILO C190, focuses on training financial independence, reproductive health services for women workers to help improve their lives. It has also expanded the scope of its work beyond the garment sector to areas such as women migrant workers in the RMG sector, precarious workers and working conditions in the leather and textile sectors. Awaj’s overseas migration program assists workers, particularly migrant women, through all stages of the migration process.

Badabon Sangho is a women’s rights and women-led organisation working in the areas of women’s rights to land, work, water-bodies, climate justice, natural resources and sexual and reproductive health. It has developed a number of tested tools and methods in order to support women migrant workers, especially their control over on resources and lands. The organisation provides capacity building support to groups and local women’s rights organisations challenging existing social, political and economic power systems that exclude, oppress and violate their human rights, and that have internal structures which reflect feminist principles.

Bangladesh Nari Sramik Kendra (BNSK) works to promote and protect rights of Bangladeshi women migrant workers. It was founded in 2010 and registered in 2012 with the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs.
BNSK’s programmes are – (i) Mass awareness campaigns for safe migration and protection of the rights of migrant women; (ii) Capacity building for potential migrants and socioeconomic reintegration of returnee migrants; and (iii) Advocacy to promote and protect rights of the migrants and victims of trafficking.
It works all over Bangladesh for safe migration, especially for women workers involved in both the formal and informal sector. It capacitates workers on decision making, life skills and leadership skills development. It supports potential and returnee migrants especially victims of trafficking and irregular migrants. BNSK regularly conducts research among migrants in order to create evidence for advocacy purposes. It provides psychosocial and economic reintegration services for returnee women migrants and survivors of trafficking. It organises campaigns for protecting the rights of women and workers.

Rights Jessore is a Secretariat for an NGO network which is a platform of 483 Bangladeshi NGOs willing to work on human trafficking. Out of those NGOs, a total of 46 members are directly involved with Rights Jessore’s project implementation at grassroots level. Bangladeshi Ovibashi Mohila Sramik Association (BOMSA) aims to unite and protect the welfare of female migrants of Bangladesh. Founded and operated by returned women migrant workers, BOMSA has been working with internal and external women migrants since 1998 to ensure the protection of migrants’ rights. At that time it was the only voice for female migrants in Bangladesh. BOMSA has been registered with Department of Women’s Affairs, Government of Bangladesh DWA Registration no. Jesbikka/ Dhaka/250, NGO Bureau Reg. No. 1920. BOMSA is operational in eleven districts. Their work continues to shape the lives of many women, who battle against the odds in foreign lands by offering both pre- and post- departure support and training.
